Heavy melton body, real leather sleeves, quilted lining. Nothing bonded, nothing synthetic, no printed-on trims. It should outlast the person who buys it.

Three things account for most of the price. None of them are visible in a photo, which is why nobody else talks about them.

The wool
Woven melton at 24oz, the same weight used on American letterman jackets before the mills switched to lighter blends. It holds its shape and it holds the cold out.

The leather
Full-grain cowhide, not corrected, not coated. It scuffs, it softens, and it ends up looking better at year five than it did on the hanger.

The making
Cut and sewn in our own factory in England by the same people who’ve been building our made-to-order jackets since 2011. Nothing is outsourced.
We didn’t start out as a brand.
For fourteen years we’ve made varsity jackets for other people. Universities, clubs, film wardrobes, companies you’d recognise if we were allowed to name them. Every one of them custom, every one of them a wait.
College Classics is the first jacket with our own name in the collar. Same pattern, same cloth, same hands — just finished, boxed and ready to go. No lettering, no eight-week lead time, no minimum order.
If you want yours with your own chenille and embroidery, we still do that. It just lives on the other side of the business.
